Of the three main varieties of wine that are in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra - Mencia (red), Albariño and Godello (white), all varietals - our winery, among others, produces two of them Mencia and Godello.
The wines of the Ribeira Sacra wines are full of youth, taste, aroma and intense color. Mencia variety is the most cultivated and extended. Wines are cherry, bright, with purple reflections and olfactory fruity. Among the highlights Godello white wines, for its intense aroma and its freshness.
Pombares Red wine is obtained from the mixture of two types of grape, Mencia 85% and 15% Garnacha Tintorera.
It is made with stemmed grapes by fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control.
It has a bright cherry red with purple trim, is very fruity and aromatic. Velvety, balanced, well structured and round in the mouth and intense tannins. It is ideal for light meats, fish and seafood.
This is the red grape variety of northwestern Spain, especially in the O.D. Ribeira Sacra, Valdeorras and Bierzo.
It produces wines of exceptional quality, with an unmistakable bouquet and velvety texture. They are soft in the mouth, causing a pleasant sensation, its acidity is balanced, are potent in alcohol.
They are tasty and slightly astringent, with an elegant and fruitful aftertaste with hints of raspberry or blackberry and a prolonged persistence. The Mencia grape, maintains a relationship of similarity with other varieties such as Tempranillo or Cabernet Franc.
Pombares White wine is obtained from the mixture of two types of grape, 85% and 15% godello Treixadura. Are two native Galicia noble varieties of high quality.
clean and bright. Lemon yellow with straw-colored tones. very fruity aroma, complex, mixed fruit predominance of peach and apple.
Palate: fruity, tasty and full-bodied. Aftertaste end, something sweet.
Very aromatic and glycerine, a native of Galicia and essential designations of origin Valdeorras and Bierzo.
Its typical aromas are fruity, floral, herbaceous, with some aniseed and mint nuances.
The Godello grape, in addition to its extraordinary aromatic potential, has a strong character that produces lactic wines with a very broad palate.
